7:30 AM - 4:30 PM    Vacation Camps, School Holidays, Parent Conferences & Staff Inservice Days 2023-2024 - April 19th (Parent Conferences)
The St. Albans Recreation Department will be offering all day CAMP for all 2023/2024 school holiday breaks, parent conference days, staff in-service days, and singular school holidays.Our programs are an active, full day (7:30am-4:30pm) and open to kids from Kindergarten to 6th Grade.  Programming will include LOTS of outside play time, time for arts/crafts projects, as well as time swimming at the Hard'ack pool!Because we will spend a majority of our time outdoors exploring and playing, it's important to be prepared for all weather (and temperature) conditions.  We will also be spending time each day at the Hard'ack pool so please be sure swimwear and towels are part of the daily packing list.during the November, December, February/March, and April vacations-Hat-Gloves-Boots-Jacket -Rain gear-Swimsuit-Towel-LAYERS LAYERS LAYERSBe sure to pack a lunch, multiple snacks, and water to keep fueled and hydrated for the entire day.      Vacation Camp drop off and pick up is at the Greg Brown Lodge at Hard'ack.  *Drop Off-At or after 7:30am*Pick Up-At or before 4:30pm

Episode 2 of the truly EPIC program series is coming back to the Greg Brown Lodge this May!Prepare for an afternoon of Star Wars themed FUN as we dive deep into our Jedi training with games like Feed the Sarlac, Blaster Target Practice, and Avoid the Asteroid.  Our Recreation Rebels will lock down the planet of Hard'ack for a LEGO build, Trivia challenge and maybe a Jedi snack.Seeking Padawans in 1st-5th gradeRegistration includes a Star Wars LEGO set and materials for all activities.Parents please note-This is a drop off program.  Drop off begins at 4:15pm at the lodge.  Pick up at 6pm.

Wilderness First Aid – 16 hours Accidents happen! This is the perfect course for people who play or work in the outdoors to gain a basic level of emergency care training. Designed for the backcountry, the knowledge and skills can be applied anywhere using a simple first aid kit and improvisation.  The course covers the following topics in a combination of talks, discussions, skills demonstration, and scenarios: Prevention of Emergencies. Initial Assessment and Response to Life-threatening Emergencies. Patient Assessment Soft Tissue Injuries Musculoskeletal Injuries Environmental Emergencies Medical Emergencies Successful completion of the course awards the participant with Wilderness First Aid Certification from Stonehearth Open Learning Opportunities (SOLO), a leader in the area of wilderness medicine education. Instructor: Patrick Malone – is a full time faculty member at the University of Vermont and an adjunct instructor for SOLO.  Involved in emergency services education for nearly forty years, he has been teaching a variety of wilderness medicine courses since 1996 to UVM students, the Vermont Game Warden Service and members of other outdoor & emergency service organizations.  A lifetime outdoorsman, most of is current outdoor adventures involve his grandchildren.
