ATTENTION MRSUD FAMILIES!! St. Albans Recreation department has partnered with Maple Run Union School District to provide reduced rates for summer day camp. If your child attends SATEC, SACS, FCS, or BFA St. Albans - you are entitled to a discount from 50% to 100% off registration to our CIT Program for weeks 3, 4, 5, 6 & 7. Please see the schedule down below. This applies to Summer Day Camp, CIT Program & Teen Adventure Camp. If you live in St. Albans and your child attends SATEC, SACS, or BFA the discount is automatically applied when you register. If your child attends Fairfield or does not live in St. Albans but attends an MRUSD school, please call the office at 802-752-2165 or 802-524-1971 and we’ll apply the discount to your registration.
Similarly, if you notice the discount is being applied to your registration and your child does NOT attend an MRUSD school, please call and let us know. This discount is ONLY for MRUSD students. You will be responsible for the remainder of the registration fees.
All registrations are on a first-come, first-served basis and are final. All registration and conduct regulations apply. If your family needs to switch a week, we will do our best to accommodate your needs, but wholesale changes and cancellations cannot be accommodated.

Back again for the 2025 Day Camp season...Counselor In Training (CIT)!!
Being a CIT is an exciting and rewarding experience where you will get to learn all the ins and outs of camp life. Our CIT program is designed to provide young people (ages 13-15) with leadership and development opportunities through "hands-on" learning experiences. CITs will help out with a variety of camp tasks from camper supervision to assisting with activity planning and implementation. CITs are expected to lead by example, demonstrating positive values and attitudes that inspire campers to do the same. CITs will develop personal skills to make decisions and define a sense of confidence and caring, becoming a future leader. All in an atmosphere of fun and friendship.
We brought back our Counselor In Training (CIT) program just a few years ago and it was an amazing success. We have continued to have a team full of energized and engaged teens who have dove right into learning all about what it takes to make camp run. Not only are CITs a great helping hand, they also become great role models for the kiddos at our camp. By the end of the Summer, many campers look up to these teens and tell us they can't wait until they are old enough to be CITs - and this is what this program is all about.
Prior to the start of camp there will be an orientation/training for all registered CITs to attend. At the orientation, they will get the chance to meet the other CITs and learn more in-depth about their roles and responsibilities at camp.
Each session is FOUR days per week (Monday-Thursday) with the option of signing up for 1 week or all weeks of the summer.
All CITs should be prepared for their time at camp by bringing lunch, snacks, beverages, swim suit, towel, & sunscreen. Closed toed shoes and/or sport-type sandals (Ex. Tiva or Chaco) should be packed each day, as well as clothing for all weather situations.
The CIT program is designed to be a learning experience and a way to sort of "dip a toe" into what it is like to be a part of the working world. Please note that after registration - all CIT candidates must get in touch with Chloe to set up an interview. This is a great experience for the CIT and also gives us a chance to meet before the start of the summer. You can set up an interview by calling 802-752-2165 or emailing c.lumbra@stalbansvt.com.
If a CIT candidate was previously a camper, they must have demonstrated positive behavior during their time at Day Camp.
SWIM TEAM MEMBERS! CIT works around Swim Team practices!
Swim team members can head to camp after their practice.
CIT Information
Participation in the CIT program does not imply nor guarantee future employment with the St. Albans Recreation Department. Participants in the CIT program participants must model appropriate behavior and language. They must be engaged and take their responsibility seriously to be considered for this activity. CITs who do not follow these rules and take their responsibility seriously will be removed from the program.
Schedule
Although the CIT Program runs from 8:00am - 1:00pm daily, CITS will have the option to get picked up at this point or to stay until the camp day is done at 4:30pm. If your CIT would like to stay until 4:30 - all camp rules apply. CITS are welcome to utilize the pool and hangout or continue responsibilities of our CIT Program. CITS are expected to stay under staff supervision.
