Here's some amazing news for MRUSD families!  If your child attends SATEC, SACS,  Fairfield Elementary School or BFA St. Albans you are entitled to a discount from 50% to 100% off registration to camp. 
This applies to Summer Day Camp, CIT Program & Teen Adventure Camp.  
If your child attends SATEC, BFA or SACS, the discount will automatically be applied to your registration.  If your child attends Fairfield Elementary, please call the office and will complete your registration over the phone to apply the discount.
The funds have been made available by MRUSD for kids in the supervisory union. 
If your child attends an MRUSD school and you have already registered, please call the office at 802-752-2165 or 802-524-1971 and we will adjust your account.
All registrations are on a first come, first serve basis and are final.
All registration and conduct regulations apply.  

Back again for the 2024 Day Camp season...Counselor In Training (CIT)!!

We brought back our Counselor In Training (CIT) program last year and it was AWESOME. We had a team full of energized and engaged teens who dove right into learning all about what it takes to make camp run. Not only were they a great helping hand, they also became great role models for the kiddos at our camp. By the end of the Summer, many campers looked up to these teens and told us they couldn't wait until they were old enough to be CITs - and that is what this is what it is all about. 

Being a CIT is an exciting and rewarding experience where you will get to learn all the ins and outs of camp life. Our CIT program is designed to provide young people (ages 13-15) with leadership and development opportunities through "hands-on" learning experiences. CITs will help out with a variety of camp tasks from camper supervision to assisting with activity planning and implementation. CITs are expected to lead by example, demonstrating positive values and attitudes that inspire campers to do the same. CITs will develop personal skills to make decisions and define a sense of confidence and caring, becoming a future leader. All in an atmosphere of fun and friendship. 

Prior to the summer beginning, there will be an orientation/training for all registered CITs to attend. At the orientation, they will get the chance to meet the other CITs and learn more in-depth about their roles and responsibilities at camp.

Each session is FOUR days per week (Monday-Thursday) with the option of signing up for 1 week or all weeks of the summer.

All CITs should be prepared for their time at camp by bringing lunch, snacks, beverages, swim suit, towel, & sunscreen.  Closed toed shoes and/or sport-type sandals (Ex. Tiva or Chaco) should be packed each day, as well as clothing for all weather situations.

The CIT program is designed to be a learning experience and a way to sort of "dip a toe" into what it is like to be a part of the working world. Please note that after registration - all CIT candidates must get in touch with Chloe to set up an interview. This is a great experience for the CIT and also gives us a chance to meet before the start of the summer. If a CIT candidate was previously a camper, they must have demonstrated positive behavior during their time at Day Camp.

Participation in the CIT program does not imply nor guarantee future employment with the St. Albans Recreation Department. Participants in the CIT program participants must model appropriate behavior and language. They must be engaged and take their responsibility seriously to be considered for this activity. CITs who do not follow these rules and take their responsibility seriously will be removed from the program.
