ATTENTION MRUSD FAMILIES!! We are happy to announce that we will be partnering with the Maple Run Unified School District again this summer to provide reduced rates for summer day camp. If your child attends SATEC, SACS, FCS, or BFA St. Albans they are entitled to a discount from 50% to 100% off registration to our Day Camp for Weeks 3, 4, 5, 6 & 7 (see schedule below). Students who receive Free and Reduced Lunches may qualify for a 100% scholarship.  These weeks have been pre-selected by MRUSD and apply to Summer Day Camp, CIT Program & Teen Adventure Camp.

If you live in St. Albans and your child attends SATEC, SACS, or BFA the discount is automatically applied when you register. If your child attends Fairfield or does not live in St. Albans but attends an MRUSD school, please call the office at 802-752-2165, 802-524-1971, or 802-524-1559 and we’ll apply the discount to your registration. 

Similarly, if you notice the discount is being applied to your registration and your child does NOT attend an MRUSD school, please call and let us know. This discount is ONLY for MRUSD students. You will be responsible for the remainder of the registration fees.

All registrations are on a first-come, first-served basis and are final. All registration and conduct regulations apply. If your family needs to switch a week, we will do our best to accommodate your needs, but wholesale changes and cancellations cannot be accommodated.

HOW REGISTRATION WILL WORK: 
This year registration will be broken up into 2 different sections - Full Price vs. MRUSD Discount. You can still register for all of the weeks, but you will have to go into both activities. Even if you do not qualify for the MRUSD discount, you will still need to click on the MRUSD Section to register for Weeks 3 - 7.

You will notice when you click on "Full Price" weeks that some weeks show as UNAVAILABLE. This does NOT mean that they are full, it just means to register for those weeks you have to go to the "MRUSD Discount" section. Remember half the weeks are under the Full Price Section and the other half can be found under MRUSD Discount. Please take a look at the schedule below BEFORE registering to make sure you know where to go to register for which weeks.

Under the Full Price Section you will find: 
Week 1: June 16 to June 20
Week 2: June 23 to June 27
Week 8: August 4 to August 8
Week 9: August 11 to August 15
Week 10: August 18 to August 22 (limited availability)

Under the MRUSD Discount Section you will find:
Week 3: June 30 to July 4 (NO camp on Fri. 7/4)
Week 4: July 7 to July 11
Week 5: July 14 to July 18
Week 6: July 21 to July 25
Week 7: July 28 to August 1

EXAMPLE: If I want to register my child for weeks 2, 4 & 6. I would go into the Full Price Section and select Week 2 and fill out the required form. Then once that is complete and in my cart, I will return to the program and go into the MRUSD Discount Section and add weeks 4 and 6. The price will automatically reflect the MRUSD discount if you are a St. Albans Resident. At checkout, you will see all three of the weeks.

WAIT LIST INFORMATION!! 
We know that camp fills up rather quickly - this year we will be utilizing a waitlist system through MyRec. As weeks fill up, we will open up our waiting list. You will be able to sign up for our waiting list, the same place you will be able to sign up for camp. If you are wondering which weeks are full - please click on the "Waitlist" section. The wait list section will ONLY show the weeks that are full.

If you would like to be placed on our waitlist for a week, follow these steps: 
1. Go to "Waitlist"
2. Select the week(s) you would like 
3. Add to your cart and check out. 

If you get moved off the waitlist, someone from our office will contact you to let you know. You can also remove yourself from the waitlist at any time by canceling the registration. 

Why should you choose our Day Camp? 
The St. Albans Recreation Department Day Camp is a fun and safe option for families during the summer. Each day is filled with games, outdoor exploring, crafts, pool time, friendship, and FUN!  Camp takes place at Hard'ack Recreation Area which includes 95 acres of land and is home to a disc golf course, miles of multi-use trails, the Greg Brown Lodge, a new Hard'ack Playground, and the Hard'ack Pool making it the PERFECT place to spend the summer. Our energetic summer staff will keep campers engaged in activities ALL DAY, creating a fun, inclusive, and active camp environment. We spend as much time as possible outdoors so campers should come prepared for any and ALL weather situations.  We will spend some time outside even in a drizzle, so having the proper clothing is important.  In the event of more serious weather, we will utilize the indoor facilities available to us including-The Lodge, Collins Perley Sports and Fitness Center, City Hall Auditorium, and even the Welden Theatre!

DAY CAMP DAY
  • 7:30am-8:45am Drop Off at the Greg Brown Lodge at Hard'ack
  • 9:00am-9:30am Morning Meeting & Snack
  • 9:45am-11:45am - Group Activities
  • 12:00noon-12:30pm - Lunch
  • 12:30pm-1pm - Clean Up and Prepare for pool
  • 1:00pm-3:30pm Splash the afternoon away at the Hard'ack Pool
  • 3:30pm-4:30pm at Hard'ack Playground (unless inclement weather - at the lodge)
  • If your camper will be registering for Swim Lessons this summer, please be sure to tell the Director at drop off each day. Camp staff can pick up swim team members or walk them over to the pool for their practice time as well as bring kids to the pool for swim lessons. Just let us know in advance. Remind the staff each morning at drop off so their class is added to the schedule.

The Recreation Department is not responsible for lost or stolen items.

Early Drop off & Late Pick Up Options and Charges
  • There is an early drop off option. If you need to drop your child off before 7:30am, you can register for early drop off at the same time you register for day camp. You can drop your child off at 7:00am (no earlier) with the early drop off option. There is a separate registration and additional charge.
  • There is a late pick up option. If you cannot pick up your child before 4:30pm, you can register for late pick up at the same time you register for day camp. You MUST pick up your child at 5:00pm with late pick up registrations. There is a separate registration and an additional charge.
  • If you are late picking up your child and your child is not previously registered for late pick ups please call us to let us know that you'll be late. There is a $20 charge for each 30 minute and/or portion thereof after 4:30pm. The charges will be added to your recreation account.

Day Camp Info:
  • Day Camp is TREE NUT FREE - Please be sure your campers snacks & lunches are PEANUT & TREE NUT FREE.
  • Please send your camper with good walking shoes ~ sometimes sandals are not the best choice. Strapped sandals (Keen, Chaco, etc.)
  • We're very active and outdoors most of the time. Scrapes and bumps are bound to happen. We do not call parents during the day for a routine bump or scrape. We apply ice, bandage, and some affection :) (as indicated) and inform parents at the time of pick up. If there is an injury beyond that or the camper becomes ill during the day, we immediately contact parents/guardian at the phone number the family has given us. Please be sure your day time number is up to date.
