The St. Albans City Recreation Department offers over 35 years of experience and affiliation with the American Red Cross to deliver the best selection and quality of aquatic offerings.

Private lessons offer a 1 on 1 opportunity to get professional instruction on a very personal level. Whether someone doesn't feel comfortable in large groups or just wants the attention that a 1 on 1 lesson offers. These lessons are for people of all ages and swimming levels. Never been in the water before and need the very basics, we have the instructor for you. Have you been swimming for 10 years and just want to be better and more efficient in the water, we can do that as well. 

Each lesson is 30 minutes. Dates/Times can vary.

Important Swim Lessons Information
•All classes are processed on a first come, first serve basis.
•Classes are not cancelled or rescheduled for rain or cold, however if there is an electrical storm in the area, classes will be held inside where we'll do programming centered around swimming and safety in, on and around water.
•Please arrive 10 minutes prior to each lesson, suited up with a towel and wait on the grassy area near the shade pavilion for your instructor to call you to the pool.
•Private Lessons may be scheduled through the office pending instructor availability.
•Bathing suits are a requirement. No other clothing is allowed in the pool.
•Children wearing diapers must wear "swim diapers" to be permitted in the pool. They are available for sale at the counter.
•Parents and family are invited to watch lessons from the Bleachers. No one is permitted on deck
•Snorkels, Masks, fins, floatation devices etc. are not permitted during swim lessons.
•Once a participant is registered, there is no refund. When possible, we are happy to switch class times for you.
