Come join us at the brand new Hard'ack Pool! (10/01/22 through 3/31/22)
The new pool features a zero entry portion with water jets and play feature, diving board and well, corkscrew water slide, competition and lap lanes, heated water as well as a new pool house with locker rooms and concession area and pro shop.

Hard'ack Pool is located at 179 Congress Street. The pool is a hub of activity all year long!  Join us for St. Albans Sharks Swim Team, Swim Lessons, Lifeguard Training, WSI Training, Fitness Classes and Public Swim, refresh or just relax. The Pool Schedule changes weekly so your best bet is to check the schedule in the lobby, give us a call to see what special events are taking place or check our weekly schedule posting on St. Albans Recreation Facebook page.

The pool is covered by a heated, inflatable dome.  Patrons have full access to the locker rooms prior to entering the pool area. There is no slide available for use when the dome is in place.

A typical week looks like this:
Monday: 
              Adult Lap Swim 5:30am-9am
              Pool Programming/Classes/Public Swim 9am-12pm
              Public Swim  12:00pm - 6pm
              (*No lifeguards on duty until 3:30pm*)
        
Tuesday:
              Pool Programming/Classes 9am-12pm
              Public Swim (No lifeguards on duty) 12:30pm-3pm
              Swim Lessons & Classes 3:30pm - 6pm
                
Wednesday: 
              Adult Lap Swim 5:30am-9am
              Pool Programming/Classes/Public Swim 9am-12pm
              Public Swim  12:00pm - 6pm
              (*No lifeguards on duty until 3:30pm*)
Thursday: 
              Pool Programming/Classes 9am-12pm
              Public Swim (No lifeguards on duty) 12:30pm-3pm
              Swim Lessons & Classes 3:30pm - 630pm
Friday: 
              Adult Lap Swim 5:30am-9am
              Pool Programming/Classes/Public Swim 9am-12pm
              Public Swim  12:00pm - 6pm
              (*No lifeguards on duty until 3:30pm*)
Saturday: 
                Pool Programming/Classes  9am- 12pm
                Public Swim 12:30pm-5pm
Sunday 
                Pool Programming/Classes  9am- 12pm
                Public Swim 12:30-5pm 


*All who enter the facility must pay the admission fee. Regardless if you choose to swim or not.*


Prices for public swim sessions:
$8 for St. Albans City 
$16 for all others

Prices for classes:
$15 for residents
$20 for non - residents

Prices for 3 month memberships

Members of St. Albans Town pay the non-resident rate for pool entry and memberships but  will receive the discounted rate for all other pool programming including swim lessons, swim team, aquatic swim programs and more per town of St. Albans selectboard.



Pool Rules
Hardack Pool Rules

Pool Deck Rules:
No running on the pool deck
No persons with serious infection are allowed into the water.
All babies must wear a swim diaper (we sell them at the front desk)
No pets allowed
Only patrons 18 years and older, or 1 and under (with an adult) are allowed to swim during adult swim
No glass containers or alcoholic beverages are allowed
No smoking or vaping on pool property
Do not talk to the lifeguards while they are in the chair unless there is an emergency
Lifeguards will signal the start or end of a session with a long whistle
Keep hands out of skimmers


Shallow End:
Feet first only
No jumping in backwards or sideways, no spins
Do not hang on the ladders, they are only for getting in or out of the pool only
Keep your hands to yourself
No splashing others
No floatation devices allowed
Toys and balls are not allowed
Lifejackets are allowed if they are coast guard approved, and must be accompanied by an adult within arms reach
If a lifeguard blows 1 short whistle give them your attention
One step to jump into the pool
No excessive breath holding in water
Swim team blocks are off limits

Diving Board:
No Spins or Flips
Wait on the ground until the person ahead of you is in the water.
Only ONE bounce for entering the water
Only ONE person allowed on the diving board at a time
Jump or Dive straight off the diving board
Once your in the water please surface immediately and swim to the closest ladder
You may jump off the diving board once the person before you is at the ladder
When entering the water hands must be above your head when diving (NO Sailor dives).
Do not hang on the bars of the diving board


Slide Rules (No slide during the winter):

All users under 16 years of age must pass a swim test prior to using the slide
1 person on the slide at a time
Feet first only on back
No spinning or stopping
No flotation devices allowed
After use, please exit the pool using the ladder
Do not begin to use the slide until the water is free of people (must be fully exited from the water)
No horseplay on the stairs
