St. Albans Recreation Basketball

The St. Albans Recreation Basketball Program is open to players ages 4 through 4th grade. Each age/grade-level program builds on the next, introducing and developing the fundamental skills of basketball through fun, age-appropriate drills in a positive, active, and encouraging environment.

What to Bring:
No specific equipment is required. Players should wear comfortable athletic clothing and clean athletic shoes that are free of dirt and debris.

Registration Includes:
Registration includes a basketball shirt/pinnie. Please indicate your child’s shirt size when registering.

Program Details:
  • Emails will be sent to each group with additional information and program details as the start date approaches.
  • We are always looking for coaches to help lead our sports programs! If you are interested and able to coach, please reach out to Lee at 802-524-1559 or l.barrett@stalbansvt.com.
  • Our 3rd/4th grade teams will have the opportunity to play games against teams from neighboring communities. We are currently working with other recreation programs to finalize the game schedule. Please check back for updates as the schedule becomes available.

Please NOTE

  • Players should not wear boots/outdoor shoes on the courts. Please bring sneakers/court shoes and change into them before entering the court.
  • All players should bring a water bottle with their name on it.
  • Tykes-This is for 4 year olds-kinder and is a parent/me class.  Each kiddo should have an adult participant with them.
  • Practice times are for the registered players only. Other siblings should be with an adult at all times.

1st/2nd Grade-INFO

Please NOTE-Our 1st/2nd grade team practices at the Collins Perley Sports Complex

1st/2nd graders do not play games against other teams but will scrimmage during practices. Practices are not 2 hours long :) Families will be contacted with exact time of practice once registration closes and we are closer to the season start. Practice will either be from 12:15pm-1:15pm OR 1:15pm-2:15pm.

Historically the registration numbers for girls basketball is low-if we don't get enough girls to create a full team, we will combine this group with the boys and create a Co-Ed team.
