Go on a journey through the woods, meadows, streams, and wetlands to look for and learn about the different amphibians and reptiles found in Vermont.  We will explore the diversity of habitats used by "herps", and the spring migration routes and vernal breeding pools often used by salamanders, frogs, and turtles.

Instructor Info
Paul Brown has over 35 years of active and diverse experience as an educator, which encompasses working within adventure based/experiential learning programs, environmental education, wilderness medical instruction, natural history programs, professional climbing guide and instructor, adunct instructor for community college science courses, and high school science teacher.  He has an M.S. in Environmental Studies/Biology fron Antioch University, and is level 2 licensed secondary educator in Vermont.  In addition, he has a professional certification as a rock climbing instructor from the American Mountain Guides Association, and has extensive first aid/medical training and experience, which includes Emergency Medical Technician and Wilderness First Responder certifications.  More than anything, Paul enjoys being outdoors at all times of the year, engaged in a wide variety of adventure pursuits and experiencing nature in one way or another...and being able to actively share this with others!
