Ultra Short Race Pace Training (USRPT)
USRPT is a science-based training program. It is customized both to individual swimmers and specific races and has been shown to not only reduce injury but also prevent excessive fatigue. Mesocycle training sessions are intense, increasing muscle strength, hypertrophy and contraction speed.
This training program for competitive swimmers will typically focus on only 1 stroke per session and necessitates that swimmers exhibit both self-monitoring and self-controlling behavior.
- dry-land warm-up swimmers may arrive early to complete this
