The St. Albans Recreation Department will hold an American Red Cross Babysitter's Training! The Babysitter's Training is fun and fast-paced with in-class engagement through hands-on skills, group discussion and written activities. You'll learn to be a great babysitter, plus you'll gain the confidence to make smart decisions and stay safe in any babysitting situation.
The course includes training on:
~ How to properly care for a child
~ Child behavior management
~ Leadership
~ Business Basics
~ Caring for common childhood emergencies such as choking & life-threatening bleeding
Participants will practice the following skills:
~ Diapering
~ Feeding a baby
~ How to safely pick up a baby
~ Check-Call-Care
~ Life-threatening bleeding & choking
Successful participants will receive a Babysitter's Training certificate through American Red Cross that is valid for 10 years!
This is a TWO-PART course. In order to complete the training and receive a certificate you MUST attend both classes.
Classes will take place at the Greg Brown Lodge at Hard'ack. There will be a break for dinner, each participant should pack food/snacks and water bottle/beverage.
