Our Mission
The mission of the St. Albans Sharks Swim Team is to foster an environment conducive to developing balanced swimmers, with an emphasis on individual improvement through hard work and team work.
Swimmer Categories
Great White Sharks (Ages 11 to 18 years)
The focus is on building endurance, power, and speed through technique refinement, IM swimming, and training, tailored to sprint or distance events. Dry Land training will be incorporated on Mondays & Wednesdays at 9am after in water sessions.
Reef Sharks (Ages 10 and under)
The focus is on building endurance and improving technique in order to develop balanced swimmers.
Cat Sharks (Ages 4+)
The focus is on building endurance and stroke development, while creating a fun and inviting atmosphere.
Great White Sharks & Reef Sharks Eligibility
Swimmers must be able to swim 25 yards, repeatedly, for the entirety of the specified practice time. Swimmers must be able to legally swim ALL 4 competitive strokes (Butterfly, Backstroke, Breaststroke, Freestyle). Swimmers must want to be part of this team.
Cat Shark Eligibility
Swimmers must be able to swim 25 yards (1 lap) without a flotation device throughout the practice. Swimmers must be able to demonstrate safe swimming skills and be ready to learn, but they do not need to legally swim all 4 of the competitive strokes. Swimmers must be at least 4 years of age. Keep in mind Cat Sharks is NOT swim lessons. Participants need to be able to swim on their own and should consider continuing in the lessons program as well.
Practice Schedule
Great Whites (11-18 years)...........7:30am - 9:00am (Monday - Thursday)
Dryland Mondays & Wednesdays 9-10am
Reef Sharks (10 years & under)....8:45am - 10:00am (Monday - Thursday)
Cat Sharks (4-8 years)...................9:00am - 9:30am (Monday & Wednesdays)
Mock Meet on Thursday June 18 at 6pm-7pm at Hard'ack Pool. Great for your swimmer to get back in the swim, for new swimmers and parents to see what a meet feels like, and to learn the volunteer jobs.
Once you have registered and paid for your child to participate on the Summer Sharks using this website, you must then visit Swimtopia - the website we use throughout the season to communicate with families, send updates about meets, etc. To know what's happening this Summer, you MUST register on Swimtopia:
