First regular practice is Monday 6/26 - Preseason drop in swim sessions are going on now if your swimmer wants to get in the water sooner!
Great White Sharks: (Ages 11 to 18 years) Swimmers practice from 7:00-8:30 am daily Monday through Friday. Fee includes all practices and league meets. The focus is on building endurance, power, and speed through technique refinement, IM swimming, and training tailored to sprint or distance events. Both dry land training & in water sessions are incorporated. Training snorkels & fins are strongly recommended for practices - but not required. Pool deck is closed to parents during practices. Coaches are planning to step up training with the Great Whites this summer and some additional equipment will make that training more effective. St. Albans Rec has a wholesale account with TYR and will pass that significant discount onto families. Both of these items retails for $49 each. They will be available to Swim Team Members for $28 each. Again, these are extra and not required. If you're interested in purchasing either item, let us know what item, color and size at k.viens@stalbansvt.com Equipment orders will not need to be paid for until they arrive. We'll notify everyone when they come in and they can be picked up at the pool house. These items are for the older kids participating on the Great Whites.

Reef Sharks: (Ages 10 and under) Swimmers practice from 8:30-10:00 am daily Monday through Friday. Fee includes all practices and league meets. The focus is on building endurance and strengthening technique in order to develop balanced IM swimmers. Both dry land training & in water sessions are incorporated. The pool deck is closed to parents during practices.
Cat Sharks: (Ages 3-6 years) Cat Sharks is an introduction to Swim Team. Swimmers practice from 9:00-9:30 am on Mondays & Wednesdays. This is practice only, no meets. The focus is on building endurance and learning about swim team in a relaxed, fun atmosphere. Option to move up to Reef Sharks if desire and ability to do so are there. Keep in mind that Cat Sharks is not swimming lessons, but rather a stepping stone to Swim Team. Participants must be willing to work to accomplish swimming laps on their own. The pool deck is closed to parents during practices, but must remain at the facility for bathroom breaks.
