Day Camp

St. Albans Recreation Department Day Camp is a fun and safe option for families this summer.  Each day is filled with games, outdoor exploring, crafts, pool time, friendship, and FUN!
Camp takes place at Hard'ack Recreation Area which includes 95 acres of land and is home to a disc golf course, miles of multi-use trails, the Greg Brown Lodge, New Hard'ack Playground and Hard'ack Pool making it the PERFECT place to spend the summer.
Our energetic summer staff will keep campers engaged in activities ALL DAY, creating a fun, inclusive and active camp environment.
Most of our camp day takes place outdoors so campers should come prepared for any and ALL weather situations.  We will remain outside even in a drizzle, so having the proper clothing is important.  In the event of more serious weather we will utilize the indoor facilities available to us including-The Lodge, Collins Perley Sports and Fitness Center, and City Hall Auditorium.
Please note: registration is by the week. When you register for a week of camp you can choose to attend for one day or all five days-the price is the same.

It’s always been a goal of our camp to be outside as much as possible We plan to eat and play outdoors whenever we can.

At Drop Off –  Sick kids need to stay home.  If your camper is sick, do not send them to camp.  We trust that families will be aware of their child's health and not send a sick child to camp.

Healthy children and staff with the following symptoms/conditions may attend programming
Allergy symptoms (with no fever) that cause coughing and clear runny nose may stay if they have medically diagnosed allergies and provide confirmation from their doctor.
Well-controlled, mild asthma

Hygiene – Campers will wash hands upon arrival at camp, before and after using the bathroom, before and after eating, before and after activities and throughout the day as deemed necessary.
Food – Camp will continue to participate in the Federal Summer Lunch Program supplying a morning snack and lunch. The start date will be announced soon and we'll pass that info on to families.  Each child should bring a water bottle and bottles should be cleaned every night.  Camper lunch bags will not be able to be stored in a refrigerator so be sure to include ice packs if necessary.   Camp is PEANUT AND TREE NUT FREE.  Please keep this in mind when packing your child’s lunch.

Please do not send more “stuff” than fits in your camper’s back pack.  Please consider a swim shirt & swim hat for campers that are especially sensitive to the sun.  Be sure to supply your child with sunscreen (check the expiration date) and put their name on it. We will supervise sunscreen application showing kids how to apply to their face, arms and neck etc.
