We're thrilled to welcome the 2022 Sharks Swim Team to the new Hard'ack Pool!

You'll notice some improvements to our practice schedule.  Daily, between the Great White's and the Reef's practice there is a 30 minute "flex" time at 8:30am to 9:00am.  This is an opportunity for Great White's to add 30 minutes to the end of their practice or for Reef Sharks to start 30 minutes earlier to work on specific skills. Flex time is a swimmer driven option for additional training. Flex time is not required, it's an option beginning on Monday 6/27.
Also we've eliminated the Tiger Shark division this year as well.

Great White Sharks:  (Ages 11 to 18 years)  Swimmers practice from 7:00-8:30 am daily Monday through Friday.  Fee includes all practices and league meets.  The focus is on building endurance, power, and speed through technique refinement, IM swimming, and training tailored to sprint or distance events. Pool deck area is closed to parents during practices.

Reef Sharks:  (Ages 10 and under) Swimmers practice from 9:00-10:00 am daily Monday through Friday.  Fee includes all practices and league meets. The focus is on building endurance and strengthening technique in order to develop balanced IM swimmers.  The pool deck is closed to parents during practices.

Cat Sharks:  ( Ages 3-6 years) Cat Sharks is an introduction to Swim Team.  Swimmers practice from 9:00-9:30 am on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays.  This is practice only, no meets.  The focus is on building endurance and learning about swim team in a relaxed, fun atmosphere. Option to move up to Reef Sharks if desire and ability to do so are there.  Keep in mind that Cat Sharks is not swimming lessons, but rather a stepping stone to Swim Team.  Participants must be willing to work to accomplish swimming laps on their own.  Parents are allowed on deck for Cat Sharks in case their swimmer needs to use the bathroom, etc but must remain in the designated area.

Completed applications are then sent to the Foundation, you will receive a notification letter from the Foundation, and then you submit that letter to the recreation department. These will be pre-ordered by 4/25/22 to be here in time for season. These uniforms are not required - they are an option. A plain black suit is still fine to use in competitions. St. Albans Sharks Swim Team Apparel
St. Albans Sharks Swim team uniforms and apparel will be available through an online store through Kevin Smith Sports. Team members are NOT required to have team uniforms. A plain black either suit or jammer is fine. We'll have the link up asap to purchase gear.

Custom STA swim caps, goggles and training fins will still be available at the recreation office at The Greg Brown Lodge or the new pool house. Inquire at the front desk.
