About Our Program!R.E.C. Days is our daily; Recreational-Educational-Creative program, taking place in the afternoon at Hard'ack. Participants meet at the Greg Brown Lodge after school for afternoons that are designed to be fun, active, and engaging for kids in Kindergarten through 6th Grade.Hard'ack is the perfect place for children to be able to do a variety of different activities. Kiddos can expect a mixture of outdoor play, games, sports, crafts, pool time, and more! Outdoor play can include, but is not limited to, going for hikes and nature walks, playing games out on our soccer fields, or enjoying our super awesome playground! Our program also includes indoor activities such as crafts, perler beads, friendship bracelet making, coloring, cards, and more! We are fortunate to have access to the year-round Hard'ack Pool! Throughout the school year, there will be multiple days each week when registrants can use our pool and swim after school! If there is one thing we can guarantee, it's that the fun never stops!! TRANSPORTATION TO HARD'ACK - If your child attends SATEC or SACS, they can ride the school bus right to Hard'ack after school. Our staff will be waiting for them and meet them daily as they get off the bus. However, families must confirm with their schools that they will be attending our program to ensure your child takes the correct bus at the end of the day. Halloween Treat Making Class - Presented by The Clean SpoonThursday October 29th5:00pm - 6:30pmCome make some creepy, crawly, delicious treats to ramp up your Halloween Spirit!  We will be making 4-6 different kid (and adult) friendly treats.  Each registered participant will leave with a Halloween tray loaded with goodies of their making.  Adults are welcome to come help with their child, but there is one tray per paid participant.Everything is supplied.  This will be a tree nut free class.

The runs all take place on the wide cross country trails. The course changes each week, but there will always be a 5k course, and a shorter 3k option. Participants meet at the Greg Brown Lodge after school for afternoons that are designed to be fun, active, and engaging for kids in Kindergarten through 6th Grade.Hard'ack is the perfect place for children to be able to do a variety of different activities. Kiddos can expect a mixture of outdoor play, games, sports, crafts, pool time, and more! Outdoor play can include, but is not limited to, going for hikes and nature walks, playing games out on our soccer fields, or enjoying our super awesome playground! Our program also includes indoor activities such as crafts, perler beads, friendship bracelet making, coloring, cards, and more! We are fortunate to have access to the year-round Hard'ack Pool! Throughout the school year, there will be multiple days each week when registrants can use our pool and swim after school! If there is one thing we can guarantee, it's that the fun never stops!! TRANSPORTATION TO HARD'ACK - If your child attends SATEC or SACS, they can ride the school bus right to Hard'ack after school. Our staff will be waiting for them and meet them daily as they get off the bus. However, families must confirm with their schools that they will be attending our program to ensure your child takes the correct bus at the end of the day. 4:00 PM - 7:00 PM    Babysitter's Training Course - American Red Cross - Babysitter Course
The St. Albans Recreation Department will hold an American Red Cross Babysitter's Training! The Babysitter's Training is fun and fast-paced with in-class engagement through hands-on skills, group discussion and written activities. You'll learn to be a great babysitter, plus you'll gain the confidence to make smart decisions and stay safe in any babysitting situation. The course includes training on: ~ How to properly care for a child~ Child behavior management ~ Leadership ~ Business Basics~ Caring for common childhood emergencies such as choking & life-threatening bleedingParticipants will practice the following skills: ~ Diapering~ Feeding a baby~ How to safely pick up a baby~ Check-Call-Care~ Life-threatening bleeding & chokingSuccessful participants will receive a Babysitter's Training certificate through American Red Cross that is valid for 10 years!This is a TWO-PART course. In order to complete the training and receive a certificate you MUST attend both classes. Classes will take place at the Greg Brown Lodge at Hard'ack.
