5:30 PM - 7:00 PM    Lacrosse 2024 - 7th and 8th Grade - Boys
The primary purpose of this program is to teach and promote the game of lacrosse in a fun, safe, and respectful environment.  We believe in "Honoring the Game."  This means as a club we strive to instill the values of sportsmanship, respect, teamwork, fair play and the love of the game.  These values are important in developing our youth into contributing members of our community.  As a member of US Lacrosse, we follow the practices outlined by the Positive Coaching Alliance. NVTYL Membership fee for players in Grades 3-8  is included in the registration fee.St. Albans Recreation will be submitting the US Lacrosse Memberships for all players, saving families an extra step of signing up and purchasing that membership. All players who play in the NVTYL must have a valid US Lacrosse membership. Membership is not required for Tykes and Grades 1 & 2.If you already have an up to date US Lacrosse membership please call the office and we will take $30 off the registration cost.  New members are welcome at all ages!  Tykes: Pre K-Kinder - The Tykes program is geared to teaching kids the basic skills of lacrosse. This program will teach the skills of lacrosse through fun games and drills designed to get kids excited about the sport. Through working on hand eye coordination and movement we will prepare kids for the next level of the game. No specific equipment is required at this age.  We have sticks for kids to use at practice if they don't have one.  Practices: -Tuesdays at 5pm OR 6pm Barlow Street Park1st/2nd Grade - 1st and 2nd graders will continue to learn the skill and rules of the game. Practices are held once a week at Hard'ack.  Games are against each other on small fields that help promote individual skills and concepts. This program is focused on having fun and getting kids excited about lacrosse. Practices:-Girls -Wednesdays at 5-6pm at Hard'ack-Boys Mondays at 5-6pm at Hard'ack   3rd/4th Grade-Girls - Focus on practicing basic skills, having fun and introducing basic team concepts.  Kids will play on a half field with smaller goals to reinforce stick skill and movement. 6 players on the field at once.Practices:-Tuesday & Thursday at 5-6pm at Hard'ack.3rd/4th Grade-Boys - Skills practice and basic full field concepts will be introduced.  This is a fun introduction to the full field game.  Kids will play on a half field with smaller goals to reinforce stick skill and movement. 6 players on the field at once. Practices:-Tuesday & Thursday 6-7pm at Hard'ack.   5th/6th Grade-Boys - Focus is on basic stick and body skills. Skills are honed throughout the season and are essential to teaching team concepts. Players learn about some basic team concepts. NVTYL Membership fee for players in Grades 3-8  is included in the registration fee.St. Albans Recreation will be submitting the US Lacrosse Memberships for all players, saving families an extra step of signing up and purchasing that membership. All players who play in the NVTYL must have a valid US Lacrosse membership. Membership is not required for Tykes and Grades 1 & 2.If you already have an up to date US Lacrosse membership please call the office and we will take $30 off the registration cost.  New members are welcome at all ages!  Tykes: Pre K-Kinder - The Tykes program is geared to teaching kids the basic skills of lacrosse. This program will teach the skills of lacrosse through fun games and drills designed to get kids excited about the sport. Through working on hand eye coordination and movement we will prepare kids for the next level of the game. No specific equipment is required at this age.  We have sticks for kids to use at practice if they don't have one.  Practices: -Tuesdays at 5pm OR 6pm Barlow Street Park1st/2nd Grade - 1st and 2nd graders will continue to learn the skill and rules of the game. Practices are held once a week at Hard'ack.  Games are against each other on small fields that help promote individual skills and concepts. This program is focused on having fun and getting kids excited about lacrosse. Practices:-Girls -Wednesdays at 5-6pm at Hard'ack-Boys Mondays at 5-6pm at Hard'ack   3rd/4th Grade-Girls - Focus on practicing basic skills, having fun and introducing basic team concepts.  Kids will play on a half field with smaller goals to reinforce stick skill and movement. 6 players on the field at once.Practices:-Tuesday & Thursday at 5-6pm at Hard'ack.3rd/4th Grade-Boys - Skills practice and basic full field concepts will be introduced.  This is a fun introduction to the full field game.  Kids will play on a half field with smaller goals to reinforce stick skill and movement. 6 players on the field at once. Practices:-Tuesday & Thursday 6-7pm at Hard'ack.   5th/6th Grade-Boys - Focus is on basic stick and body skills. Skills are honed throughout the season and are essential to teaching team concepts. Practices:-Monday &  Wednesday 5:30-7pm at Houghton Park.5th/6th Grade-Girls - Skills learned at the 3-4 level will continue to develop and improve.  Work on team development and movement on the field.  Kids will play on a full field with regular sized goals to get them prepared for the next level.
